Today's Scam Spotlight

Tech Support Scams Are Getting Smarter

Tech support scammers no longer just use pop-ups. They now buy ads that appear in Google search results, create fake customer service numbers, and even call you claiming your computer has a virus. The goal is always the same: get remote access to your computer.

    ⚠️ Warning Signs

    • Pop-ups with phone numbers
    • Unsolicited calls about your computer
    • Requests for remote access (TeamViewer, AnyDesk)
    • Charges for 'fixing' problems that don't exist

    📋 What To Do

    1. 1Close pop-ups with keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+W)
    2. 2Never call phone numbers from pop-ups or search ads
    3. 3Never give remote access to someone who contacts you
    4. 4Take your computer to a trusted local repair shop

    💡 Tip of the Day

If a pop-up freezes your screen, try pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete (Windows) or Command+Option+Escape (Mac) to force-close your browser. Don't call any number shown.
